Cesar Idrobo
Few young designers have combined talent, tenacity, and curiosity in quite the same way as Cesar Augusto Idrobo Giraldo. The length of his name is rivaled only by his already lengthy and remarkable resumé.
His career began at the Savannah College of Art and Design where he first studied Industrial Design. After completing his degree he worked for a variety of large in house design teams. It wasn’t until later that he decided to expand his knowledge and pursue a graduate degree in Accessory Design. This decision set him on a path dotted with awards, acclaim, and well deserved recognition. For Cesar design is more than the creation of shiny new things; it is a shared language that unites strangers. So far he has worked for BMW; he has worked for Nike; he has worked for Adidas; he has cobbled a collection of shoes using ancient bespoke techniques; he has been trained by masters of their craft, and recently he decided to work with one of the most masterful musicians and edgy designers of the 21st century, Kanye West.
Like Icarus, who flew too close to the sun, Cesar has also seen his dreams fade. But, unlike the tragic Icarus, Cesar did not fall to his doom, instead he made better wings, stronger, to take him higher. As a designer Cesar is a multi-hyphenate. A portion of his young career could describe a lifetime of work. But it is his tenacity to know more and do better that has him looking forward, with an eager smile, ready to soar higher than he ever dreamed.
